The Prophet PBUH said, |
Shaheen is a legendary historical novel written in Urdu by an Islamic historian and novelist Naseem Hijazi. It details about the situation of the Muslims in Granada (Spain) in that era, when they were about to be expelled from Spain in 1492. The novel also very beautifully depicts the reasons of the destruction of Muslim's Empire in Granada. Shaheen (Histroical Drama) was dramatized in 1980s by (PTV). The novel is a combination of bravery, spirit, courage and strong faith of Islamic heroes. |

"The example of him (a believer) who recites the Qur'an is like that of a citron which tastes good and smells good. And he (a believer) who does not recite the Qur'an is like a date which is good in taste but has no smell. And the example of a dissolute wicked person who recites the Qur'an is like the Raihana (sweet basil) which smells good but tastes bitter.
